I had great intentions of creating a 6 month round up of all that I’ve read so far this year, but – life sometimes gets in the way doesn’t it?
I’m incredibly privileged to have been able to have a holiday during this time of complete madness and I had great visions of finishing all the half written reviews I’ve started, coming up with a content strategy, planning my feed and generally refocusing on this blog.
Not much of a holiday right? But I think with the stress of the last 18 months I’ve forgotten how to relax…..
But, I’ve been here a week, my laptop lies unopened in a suitcase and I’m typing this post on my phone.
Do you want to know know what I have done – I’ve read.
For the first time in months, I’ve read without a thought to whether it would be a good one for a review, whether it’s got a good ‘lesson’, if it will make me a better human or if it’s a reread.
I’ve been reading at least three hours a day, often more – it’s been a great escape from ‘real life’. I’ve covered my favourite authors and comfort reads as well as branching into recommendations and books picked because they’ve got pretty covers. Not the most scientific approach, and definitely not following any kind of ‘strategy’ but it’s made me find the inspiration I was hoping for when I wrote that first post back in February. Fingers crossed it’ll last long enough for me to finish some of these reviews – when I get home of course!
Happy July all, speak soon. N-x
